Basketball Recap: Southeastern Takes a Loss

Southeastern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Denby Tars. While losing is never fun, the Jungaleers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 390th, while the Tars are ranked 82nd).

Southeastern's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Denby, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeastern will challenge King at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Denby, they will be playing at home against Communication Media Arts at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tars will be up against the Pharaohs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.42 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
