Baseball Recap: Evergreen's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Evergreen waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the D'Evelyn Jaguars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Brody March made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. March was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James Mauro, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Evergreen lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Evergreen's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for D'Evelyn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.

Coincidentally, Evergreen and D'Evelyn will both be playing Wheat Ridge the next time they take the field. The Cougars will head out to face the Farmers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Jaguars will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
