Lugoff-Elgin had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets 35-34. The win was some much needed relief for the Demons as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

A big part of the victory came down to the chemistry between Aiden Fitzgerald and his top target Eric Richardson. Fitzgerald threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns while Richardson picked up 112 receiving yards.

Lugoff-Elgin's defense was in the mix too, especially the secondary: they snagged two passes before it was all said and done.
