Recap: Bluegrass United Bluehawks vs. Garrard County Golden Lions
If the Bluegrass United Bluehawks were feeling good off their 65-25 takedown of the Richmond HomeSchool Guardians last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bluegrass United fell just short of Garrard County by a score of 62-60. Bluegrass United has not had much luck with Garrard County recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Bluegrass United still got an impressive performance from Caleb Burnett, who scored 30 points along with five steals. Burnett hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Sammy King was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Bluegrass United's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Garrard County, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bluegrass United will square off against Nicholas County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Nicholas County is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Garrard County, they will head out on the road to square off against Lincoln County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Garrard County in Kentucky (Lincoln County is ranked 101st, while Garrard County is ranked 238th).
