Softball Game Preview: Hendrickson Hawks vs. Wimberley Texans

The Hendrickson Hawks will face off against the Wimberley Texans at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Hendrickson will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak dating back to last season.

Hendrickson's tournament run continued when they took on Churchill on Thursday. Hendrickson was the clear victors by a 20-4 margin over Churchill.

Isabella Gonzales was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zoey Kellam, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Hendrickson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Churchill only posted an OBP of .435.

Meanwhile, Wimberley suffered their biggest defeat since April 9, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 14-1 to Seguin. The loss was the Texans' first of the season.

Emorie G made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Wright, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Wimberley fell to 2-1. As for Hendrickson, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
