Softball Game Preview: Knappa Loggers vs. Rainier Columbians

The Knappa Loggers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Rainier Columbians at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Knappa lost 9-3 to Heppner/Ione on Wednesday. The loss was the Loggers' first of the season.

Kiya Roe was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubry Rusinovich, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Meanwhile, Rainier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Seaside, falling 13-2.

Rainier saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miranda Guinto, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Rainier's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Knappa, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Rainier's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Knappa hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .424.
