Volleyball Recap: Poth Comes Up Short

Poth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Yoakum Bulldogs. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Poth sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 27-29, 25-20.

Poth's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Yoakum, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

Poth has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Snook on the 21st. As for Yoakum, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against St. Joseph on the 22nd.
