Soccer Game Preview: Howell vs. Howell North

The Howell Vikings will head out to take on the Howell North Knights at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Howell North took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Howell, who comes in off a win.

Howell had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Troy-Buchanan on Tuesday. The Vikings never let the Trojans get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Howell North's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Howell Central on Tuesday. Howell North have struggled against Howell Central recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Howell's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Howell North, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Howell skirted past Howell North 2-1 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
