Basketball Recap: North Davidson Comes Up Short

North Davidson has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a blow against the Apex Friendship Patriots on Saturday, falling 69-36. While losing is never fun, the Black Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while the Patriots are ranked 128th).

Several Black Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carson Davis, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 13 points. Davis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Coen Miller was another key player, putting up seven points.

North Davidson's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Apex Friendship, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Davidson will take on Western Guilford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Apex Friendship, they will face off against Lee County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Apex Friendship's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games.
