Preview: Purvis Tornadoes vs. Forrest County Agricultural Aggies
Purvis is 9-1 against Forrest County Agricultural since December of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Purvis Tornadoes will be staying on the road to face off against the Forrest County Agricultural Aggies at 4:00 p.m. on February 9th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Purvis had to suffer through a rough 68-30 loss at the hands of Columbia. Purvis has struggled against Columbia recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Systren Eliza Elenus and Jakira Brown. Brown had a solid game and scored 17 points. Meanwhile, Eliza Elenus did her best for the losing side, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Forrest County Agricultural, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-42 loss to Lawrence County on Tuesday.
Purvis has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for Forrest County Agricultural, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-17.
Purvis came up short against Forrest County Agricultural in their previous matchup on Thursday, falling 44-31. Can Purvis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
