Basketball Recap: Tolman/Shea Takes a Loss

If Tolman/Shea was riding high fresh off their 52-26 takedown of South Kingstown last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Tolman/Shea fell 50-40 to the Portsmouth Patriots on Friday. The game marked Tolman/Shea's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Portsmouth's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Violet Silvia, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 16 points and six steals. Silvia is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gyselle Mairs, who posted 14 points and six rebounds.

Tolman/Shea now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Portsmouth, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Tolman/Shea will host Moses Brown at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Portsmouth, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-40 victory against Shea on the 10th.
