Recap: West-Oak Warriors vs. Daniel Lions
The West-Oak Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 12th straight loss. Their tough 76-53 defeat to Daniel might stick with them for a while. West-Oak has not had much luck with Daniel recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why West-Oak lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lucas Towe. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Towe has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Drew Crompton, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Daniel's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tristyn Carrington, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 assists. That's the first time this season that Carrington posted eight or more assists. Hayden Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
West-Oak has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-18 record this season. As for Daniel, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West-Oak will face off against Walhalla at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Daniel, they will head out on the road to face off against Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seneca is on a seven-game streak of home wins, Daniel a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
