Basketball Game Preview: Richmond Raiders vs. Southern Lee Cavaliers

Richmond is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Southern Lee is on a eight-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Richmond Raiders will host the Southern Lee Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Richmond knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Southern Lee likes a good challenge.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Richmond beat Lee County 69-65. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Southern Lee was able to grind out a solid victory over Hoke County on Tuesday, taking the game 56-47. Given the Cavaliers' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Bucks are ranked 364th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southern Lee's win bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Richmond, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7.
