Basketball Game Preview: Willowbrook Warriors vs. Hoffman Estates Hawks

The Willowbrook Warriors will venture away from home to take on the Hoffman Estates Hawks at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Willowbrook saw some tournament action on Monday. They fell 78-65 to Unity Christian Academy. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Hoffman Estates had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They walked away with a 72-59 victory over the Eagles. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while the Eagles are ranked 371st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hoffman Estates is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Willowbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Willowbrook came up short against Hoffman Estates in their previous meeting back in January, falling 70-62. Can Willowbrook avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
