Basketball Game Preview: Chopticon Braves vs. Huntingtown Hurricanes

Chopticon hasn't had much luck against Huntingtown recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Chopticon Braves just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Huntingtown Hurricanes at 6:30 p.m. Chopticon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Huntingtown likes a good challenge.

Chopticon is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Great Mills, falling 79-56.

Meanwhile, Huntingtown ended up a good deal behind Lackey on Tuesday and lost 79-61.

Chopticon will have to contain Brady Swann as he made an impact in Huntingtown's last game. He went 7-for-11 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and six boards. Tyson Powell was another key player, putting up four points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Huntingtown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 7.9 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 12.8.

Huntingtown dropped their record down to 12-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Chopticon, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Chopticon strolled past Huntingtown in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 69-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chopticon since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
