South Johnston is a perfect 10-0 against East Wake since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. South Johnston will face off against East Wake at 4:00 p.m. South Johnston is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.
South Johnston barely beat Hunt the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. South Johnston never let Hunt get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Trojans have won seven games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Randi Deese, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Hunt off the board. Those seven strikeouts gave Deese a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Reese Penny, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Crumpler, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
South Johnston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .680. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hunt only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, East Wake posted their closest win since April 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over Fike. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Demons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Madison Smith was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Jaimee Fowler also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
South Johnston pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for East Wake, their record is now 7-4.
Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. South Johnston has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .615. However, it's not like East Wake struggles in that department as they've averaged .473. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
South Johnston took their victory against East Wake when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 20-0. Will South Johnston repeat their success, or does East Wake has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
