Baseball Recap: Gospel Light Christian Comes Up Short

Gospel Light Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Lee Park Prep Knights, falling 13-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Gospel Light Christian of the 13-12 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Gospel Light Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mark Spencer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Spencer has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another was Nolan Landrum, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Gospel Light Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Lee Park Prep, their record now sits at 2-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gospel Light Christian will face off against Woodland Baptist Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lee Park Prep, they will take on NorthPoint Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the NightHawks have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
