Basketball Game Preview: Lovell Bulldogs vs. Powell Panthers

Lovell is 2-8 against Powell since January of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Lovell Bulldogs will host the Powell Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Powell will be up against a hot Lovell team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Lovell claimed a resounding 57-19 victory over Mountain View. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Wyoming basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Buffalos are ranked 38th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Powell didn't have too much trouble with Pinedale on Saturday as they won 71-55. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Wranglers: they've now won five in a row.

Lovell's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-3. As for Powell, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.

Everything came up roses for Lovell against Powell in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 70-33 victory. Does Lovell have another victory up their sleeve, or will Powell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
