Basketball Recap: Forest Park Comes Up Short

Forest Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They were dealt a 90-49 loss at the hands of the Jackson Jaguars. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-30 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Forest Park lost, don't look at Derrick Green. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 8 on his way to 15 points and eight boards. Jeremiah Amos was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Jackson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Donaven Thomas, who went 8 of 16 en route to 19 points and five boards. Thomas' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Dover, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Forest Park's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Jackson, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Forest Park didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-55 loss against M.L. King on the 4th. As for Jackson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 77-67 defeat against Pace Academy on the 4th.
