Football Recap: Fredericksburg Christian Piles Up the Points Against Saint John Paul the Great Catholic

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Fredericksburg Christian's strategy against Saint John Paul the Great Catholic on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Wolves out of the water with a 55-13 final score. With the Eagles ahead 41-13 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Fredericksburg Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trip Blalock, who rushed for 115 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries, and also threw for 170 yards and two TDs. Blalock really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Thomas Catlin was another key rusher, rushing for 151 yards and one score on only 15 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fredericksburg Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 266 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.7 points over those games.
