Softball Recap: Great Mills Comes Up Short

After flying high against Westlake on Monday, Great Mills came back down to earth. The Hornets took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southern Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 10-6.

Megan Cromwell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Olivia Quinn was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Great Mills' loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Southern, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Great Mills will welcome Chopticon at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Southern, they will take on North Caroline at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
