Basketball Recap: Scott Highlanders vs. Gibbs Eagles
Scott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 63-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gibbs Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Highlanders have lost by exactly seven points.
Gibbs had a senior duo take command as Zack Turner posted 26 points along with seven boards and six assists and Brady Hughes went 7 of 14 en route to 18 points. The game was Turner's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lee Wolosik, who scored seven points.
Scott's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Gibbs, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-13 record this season.
Scott has already played their next matchup (against Maryville Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Gibbs will venture away from home to take on Clinton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gibbs knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Clinton likes a good challenge.
