Basketball Recap: Del Campo Takes a Loss

Del Campo saw some tournament action on Thursday. They fell 65-56 to the Colfax Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 669th, while the Falcons are ranked 291st).

When it comes to explaining why Del Campo lost, don't look at Cole Dugan. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 13 en route to 23 points and eight rebounds. With that strong performance, Dugan is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. Another player making a difference was Zach Wright, who posted nine points and five assists.

Del Campo has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Colfax, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Del Campo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-41 victory against Amador on the 27th. As for Colfax, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-53 defeat against Placer on the 27th.
