Soccer Game Preview: Toledo Christian vs. Maumee Valley Country Day

Toledo Christian is 2-8 against Maumee Valley Country Day since September of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Eagles will head out to face off against the Hawks at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Toledo Christian comes in on three and Maumee Valley Country Day on six.

Toledo Christian took a four-goal defeat the last time they faced off against Oak Harbor, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles beat the Rockets by a goal, winning 4-3.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Maumee Valley Country Day took on Riverdale on Tuesday. The Hawks never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The result was nothing new for Maumee Valley Country Day, who have now won nine matches by four goals or more so far this season.

They hit Riverdale with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jadon Dickerson (2), Gabe Skinner (2), and Valetine Ononye Jr..

Maumee Valley Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 10-0-1. As for Toledo Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-3-2.

Toledo Christian suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Maumee Valley Country Day in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Eagles were down 10-0.
