Baseball Recap: North Rock Creek's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While North Rock Creek put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Mannford. North Rock Creek put the hurt on Mannford with a sharp 18-0 win. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Caleb Looper tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, North Rock Creek got a massive performance out of Alexander Monge, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Monge a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Bertram, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

North Rock Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mannford only posted an OBP of .118.

The win (which was North Rock Creek's third in a row) raised their record to 7-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 8.67 hits in those games compared to only five in the others. As for Mannford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

North Rock Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mannford: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
