            Baseball Recap: Irving Tigers vs. Sam Houston Texans        
        
		
        
        
            Irving scored first but ultimately less than Sam Houston in their  contest on Thursday. They took  a  10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sam Houston Texans. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Texans apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in February of 2024.
  Gus Gonzalez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 2-for-3 with one  home run and two  stolen bases. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in March of 2024.  Carson Vasquez also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  triple of the season.
Irving now  has a losing record of 2-3. As for Sam Houston, their win  ended  a  13-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 3-2.
 Irving wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  matchup,  a  5-0  victory against South Hills on the 28th. As for Sam Houston, they also  didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  game,  a  4-2  loss against Cedar Hill on the 28th.
