Baseball Game Preview: Blackman Blaze vs. Beech Buccaneers

The Blackman Blaze will challenge the Beech Buccaneers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Blackman's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Beech's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Blackman is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Tennessee's top teams: Siegel, who was ranked 15th at the time (Blackman was ranked 25th). The Blaze fell just short of the Stars by a score of 5-4 on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Blaze in their meetings with the Stars: they've now lost nine in a row.

Blackman saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Monson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Beech entered their tilt with White House-Heritage on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Patriots.

The team relied heavily on Kaden Peach, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Kaden Powell was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and one stolen base.

Beech lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White House-Heritage didn't launched any home runs.

Blackman's loss dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Beech, their victory bumped their record up to 20-15.

Blackman came up short against Beech in their previous matchup back in March, falling 9-5. Can the Blaze avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
