Basketball Game Preview: Vinton County Vikings vs. Alexander Spartans

The Vinton County Vikings will square off against the Alexander Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Vinton County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.

Vinton County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 77-64 victory over River Valley on Friday.

Meanwhile, Alexander lost 59-34 to Jackson on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 741st, while the Ironman/Ironladies are ranked 167th).

Alexander's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Vinton County, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Vinton County strolled past Alexander in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 63-47. Will Vinton County repeat their success, or does Alexander have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
