Appomattox County entered their tilt with Gretna on Thursday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Hawks. For the Raiders, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

While Appomattox County might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Gretna scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-21, 25-19.

Regan Shields paced Appomattox County's offense, picking up 16 kills. Shields got some help from Callan Shields and her 40 assists. Sawyer Almond controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Appomattox County's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Gretna, the loss snapped their winning streak at six matches and leaves them with a 8-3 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Appomattox County will welcome Chatham at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gretna, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Tunstall at 7:00 p.m. on October 6.
