Softball Recap: Hug Hawks vs. Dayton Dust Devils
Hug was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 20-2 to the Dayton Dust Devils. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 21-1 to the Dust Devils when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Monica Reyes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn De La Torre Jackson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases.
Hug's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Dayton, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
While Hug had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
