Soccer Recap: Horizon Takes a Loss

Horizon's game on Wednesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Americas Trail Blazers by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Scorpions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 477th, while the Trail Blazers are ranked 178th).

Horizon dropped their record down to 6-13 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Americas, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-6.

Looking ahead, Horizon will welcome Bel Air at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Bel Air will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Horizon surely won't give up without a fight. As for Americas, they are taking a road trip to challenge Parkland at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Americas' last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
