Basketball Game Preview: Blue Ridge Tigers vs. Pottsboro Cardinals

Blue Ridge hasn't had much luck against Pottsboro recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Blue Ridge Tigers duke it out with the Pottsboro Cardinals at 7:30 p.m.

Blue Ridge is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-45 heartbreaker at the hands of Leonard. While losing is never fun, Blue Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1276th, while Leonard is ranked 549th).

Meanwhile, Pottsboro entered their tilt with Bells on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 41-38.

Pottsboro has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Blue Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Blue Ridge lost to Pottsboro on the road by a decisive 73-54 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Blue Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
