Game recap: Dove Creek High School Football Team bests Sangre de Cristo

DOVE CREEK, Colo. - Dove Creek (Colo.) saw its 24-point lead shrink to 10, but hung on to upset Sangre de Cristo (Mosca, Colo.) 30-20 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Jordan Ernst to Nick Jones in the second quarter, the Bulldogs led 14-0 at the half.

Dove Creek expanded its lead to 24 points entering the fourth quarter. DC scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by Chance Randolph.

The loss comes after Sangre de Cristo defeated Sierra Grande 28-8 last week. The victory was a step in the right direction for the Bulldogs, who were coming off a 56-28 defeat at the hands of Norwood in its previous game.
