Volleyball Recap: Trinity Simon and Anja Wisenbaker Secure Win for Golden + How To Watch

Golden had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Lakewood Tigers. This was payback for the Demons, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The victory didn't come easy: Lakewood scored at least nine points in every set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-23, 22-25, 20-25, 15-9.

Leading Golden to victory were Anja Wisenbaker and Trinity Simon. Wisenbaker had 11 digs and one assist, while Simon had 14 kills, 11 digs, and three aces. The dominant performance also gave Simon a new career-high in assists (four).

They weren't the only good servers: Golden was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive contests.

Golden's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Lakewood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Golden wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Fountain-Fort Carson on the 24th. As for Lakewood, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Arvada West on the 23rd.
