Baseball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Scio

Scio had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They beat the Willamina Bulldogs by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 on Friday.

Scio pushed their record up to 7-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Willamina, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scio will square off against Rainier at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Willamina, they will challenge Dayton at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games the Pirates have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
