Basketball Recap: George West Finds Home Court Redemption Against Taft

There's no place like home for George West, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against the Taft Greyhounds by a score of 50-41 on Friday. The Longhorns have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Greyhounds, too.

Taft lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aliana Torres, who went 6 of 13 en route to 16 points along with three steals and three blocks. Torres has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Krista Amaya, who posted ten points along with six assists and six steals.

George West's record is now 8-14. As for Taft, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-6.

George West will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Odem at 6:15 p.m. on December 31st. Taft and Carroll will round out the year against one another at at 11:00 p.m. on Thursday.
