Basketball Game Preview: Lakeview Spartans vs. Portage Northern Huskies

The Lakeview Spartans will take on the Portage Northern Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lakeview's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.

Lakeview will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Portage Central, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Lakeview strolled past Portage Central with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 63-48.

Meanwhile, Portage Northern hadn't done well against St. Joseph recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Portage Northern snuck past St. Joseph with a 50-46 win. The 50-point effort marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The victory got Lakeview back to even at 5-5. As for Portage Northern, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
