Baseball Recap: Salinas Comes Up Short

After flying high against Monterey on Saturday, Salinas came back down to earth. The Cowboys fell 4-1 to the Soledad Aztecs on Tuesday. The Cowboys were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Aztecs earlier this season, when they won 13-2.

Salinas saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Isla, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles. The Cowboys are 2-1 when Isla posts three or more hits, but 6-11 otherwise. Chase Agee also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Salinas' loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Soledad, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-13.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Salinas is set to take on their familiar foe Hollister at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Soledad will square off against rival St. Francis at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
