The Sheldon Huskies will square off against the Rodriguez Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Sheldon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Edison 14-2.

Kwinci Brown was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Regan Wise, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in February. Sinitalela Heleta was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Sheldon lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez got the win against Pleasant Grove on Wednesday by a conclusive 9-2.
Like Sheldon, Rodriguez also got a great game from a two-way player: Angelique Boot. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Boot has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, Alanna Williams was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Anne Wilde, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI.
Rodriguez has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Sheldon, their victory bumped their record up to 17-9.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sheldon hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Rodriguez struggles in that department as they've averaged .359. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
