Basketball Preview: York Golden Knights vs. Geneseo Blue Devils
The York Golden Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Geneseo Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in York's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
York pushed their score all the way to 59 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Avon 64-59. While losing is never fun, York can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Braves are ranked 35th).
Meanwhile, Geneseo's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Le Roy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Geneseo has scored all season.
York's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Geneseo, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for York against the Blue Devils when the teams last played back in January as the squad secured a 77-48 win. Will York repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
