Basketball Recap: Lincoln Skates Past James Lick with Ease

Lincoln won the last time they faced James Lick and things went their way on Friday too. The Lincoln Lions blew past the James Lick Comets 68-29. The Lions pushed the score to 60-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Comets had no chance of recovering from.

Leading Lincoln to victory were Joseph Shelton and Noah MacKenzie. Shelton posted 26 points and five rebounds, while MacKenzie had eight points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Shelton's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Peters, who put up four points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Lincoln smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2023.

The victory was the third in a row for Lincoln, bringing their record for this year to 7-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for James Lick, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Lincoln will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Saratoga at 3:00 p.m. on December 31st. As for James Lick, they will host South San Francisco at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th. South San Francisco knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully James Lick likes a good challenge.
