Basketball Recap: Wayne Memorial Takes a Loss

Wayne Memorial suffered their biggest loss since February 17, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against the Belleville Tigers, falling 62-38. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Zebras' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Wayne Memorial's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 14-6. As for Belleville, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Wayne Memorial will host Stevenson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belleville, they will head out on the road to face off against Dearborn at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Belleville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Dearborn likes a good challenge.
