Softball Recap: Southern Nash Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southern Nash). They never let the Rocky Mount Gryphons get on the board and left with a 23-0 victory on Thursday. The Firebirds haven't had any issues with the Gryphons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

ANNA DICKINSON made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, NOEL DOBBINS was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. SARAH EWERS was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and two runs.

Southern Nash pushed their record up to 15-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Rocky Mount, they are on a 31-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
