Baseball Recap: Prouty Comes Up Short

Prouty had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-6 to make it four. They lost 13-3 to the Grafton Gators. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Gators from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Grafton, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games.

For Grafton's part, Cam Megna looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Megna a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, C.J. Chagnon was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Brady Coonan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Prouty has already played their next match (against North), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Grafton, they will welcome Uxbridge at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Gators surely won't give up without a fight.
