Basketball Recap: Morris Takes a Loss

Morris lost against Kellyville back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Morris Eagles lost 72-50 to the Kellyville Ponies. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Ponies are ranked 76th).

Morris has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points over those games. As for Kellyville, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7.

While Morris had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
