Softball Recap: Shadow Mountain's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

After low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Shadow Mountain brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They were the clear victors by a 21-6 margin over the Dysart Demons on Friday. Considering the Matadors have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Casey Evans was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Evans was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ava Maroulis was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Hannah Sheehan was another key player, scoring four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Shadow Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .923. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.

With the victory, Shadow Mountain broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-4. As for Dysart, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Shadow Mountain has already played their next game, a 13-8 win against Goldwater on the 8th. As for Dysart, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 15-8 loss against Yuma on the 8th.
