Groton came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Deuel Cardinals, posting a 75-43 win. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 26 points or more this season.

Groton has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.8 points per game. As for Deuel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Groton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Vermillion at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vermillion knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Groton likes a good challenge. As for Deuel, they will face off against Sioux Valley at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
