Basketball Recap: Bancroft-Rosalie Piles Up the Points Against Clarkson/Leigh

Bancroft-Rosalie had won six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they bumped up to 2-1 to make it seven. They really took it to the Clarkson/Leigh Patriots for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-44 victory. The Panthers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 25th (when they won 56-27).

Leading Bancroft-Rosalie to victory were Kj Blackhawk and Jaden Browning. Blackhawk went 10-for-12 on his way to 25 points, while Browning shot 43% from the field en route to 21 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Blackhawk has scored at least a third of the Panthers' points. Arian Marrufo was another key player, putting up seven points in addition to ten boards and five assists.

Bancroft-Rosalie was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clarkson/Leigh only racked up five.

As for Clarkson/Leigh, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. They haven't had much luck with Bancroft-Rosalie recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Clarkson/Leigh still got an impressive performance from Kyle McMullin, who almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine rebounds. McMullin is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Tucker Matthies, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Bancroft-Rosalie will venture away from home to square off against Walthill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clarkson/Leigh, they will head out to take on Battle Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
