Basketball Recap: Saranac Lake Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

There's no place like home for Saranac Lake, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the AuSable Valley Patriots with a sharp 68-42 victory on Thursday. Given the Red Storm's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while the Patriots are ranked 689th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

AuSable Valley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aiden Blaise, who posted 13 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hayden Bombard, who had seven points and six rebounds.

Saranac Lake's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for AuSable Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
