Baseball Recap: Seven Straight Home Wins for Decatur

There's no place like home for Decatur, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Springtown Porcupines on Friday, sneaking past 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since March 14th.

The team relied heavily on Hayden Johnson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Brody Kelley was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Decatur pushed their record up to 16-15-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Springtown, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-9-1.
